Extruded terracotta from Molins de Rei, step by step

From raw clay to fired piece: how our extruded terracotta is born and why every batch keeps the natural variations of the material.

Terracotta is the founding material of TERCOCER. Since 1980 we have worked selected clays that we extrude, air-dry and fire at high temperature to obtain a dense, stable and highly durable terracotta. The process preserves the small variations in tone and texture that set a natural piece apart from an industrial imitation.

Extrusion allows generous formats and controlled thicknesses, ideal for high-traffic flooring, ventilated façades and outdoor slabs. After firing, the natural, aged and glazed finishes open a wide chromatic range without giving up technical properties: frost resistance, low absorption and anti-slip behaviour.

Showing the origin of the material is part of how we understand the craft. Whoever specifies terracotta from Molins de Rei knows where each piece comes from and how it will behave over time.
